SUMMARY:Bat Discovery Program
DESCRIPTION:Join Swannanoa Valley WILD! for a special Bat Discovery Program at Warren Wilson College with Wildlife Biologist Scott Fletcher. Did you know North Carolina is home to at least 17 different species of bats? The program will be hosted at the edge of the forest on the soccer field. \nPlease feel free to bring folding chairs or a blanket to sit on\, a head lamp or flashlight\, bug spray\, water and snacks. And as always\, bring your curiosity!  Scott will bring the latest in bat identification technology such as thermal cameras and bat acoustic monitors. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in wildlife biology from the University of Maine and a Master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University.  He is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and was a Professional Wetland Scientist. Scott has 41 years of experience in wildlife\, endangered species\, wetlands\, habitat restoration\, general environmental impact analyses and assessments\, and federal\, state\, and local natural resource policy and permitting activities.
