Cerulean Warbler and Avian Diversity Study
Help protect our Craggy Mountains and our birds!! Join NCWF Swannanoa Valley WILD! and Highland Farms as they welcome NCWF Conservation Manager, Luke Bennett. North Carolina Wildlife Federation in partnership with National Parks Conservation Association, Center for Biological Diversity, Defenders of Wildlife, MountainTrue, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, and NCWRC, with support from the U.S. Forest Service, implemented a cerulean warbler and avian diversity survey focused on the last remaining patches of old-growth forests and maturing second-growth forests within our study area – the Craggy Mountains – a 16,000 acre portion of Pisgah National Forest where the presence of cerulean warblers and other avian species is largely unknown. There will be an opportunity to support the designation of the Craggy Mountains as a National Scenic Area. Please join us for a presentation as we discuss the project and highlight ways to get involved! This event is free, but please register here: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/ceruleanwarbler102926
